This is a fundraising event for the Elks Lodge.

5:30 PM DURANGO REDBALL EXPRESS

1099 Main (running from 2nd Ave down to Main on 11th Street)

Hosted by Rotary Clubs of La Plata County and Alpine Bank. “For the Red Ball reigns in the winters pale.” RedBall Express is a local fundraising event organized by the Rotary Clubs of La Plata County. All proceeds from the event support Rotary projects in La Plata County and local programs for people in need or at risk. Adoption tickets are available ONLINE ONLY at durangoredball.com. A $5 donation allows the participant to adopt two of the red balls. The first two balls down the course win that adoption ticket holder $5,000. The second pair wins that adoption ticket holder $2,000, and the third pair wins that adoption ticket holder $1,000. Since the arrival of the Rotary Redball Express in La Plata County, the Rotary Clubs of Durango and Bayfield have raised over $500,000 for county wide service projects and donated funds to many local non-profits. Be the lucky winner of this year's grand prizes! Must be 18+.

Hosted by Purgatory Resort. Let there be light Durango! It’s Durango’s only nighttime light parade where light emblazoned floats create a dazzling delight in Durango’s most spectacular and entertaining procession along Main Avenue. Anyone who is anyone comes out to revel and see the lads and lasses and maids and maidens display their timeless creativity on lighted floats. Come get lit with us and share in the revelry while floats compete for trophies in 10 categories with special emphasis on lights and theme.

Contestants will have to hold liquid in their mouth while their counterpart will take a crack at their cheeks with a tortilla, in hopes of knocking the drink out as well as them from the competition. “Time is very slow for those who waits.
