Real steel armored combat between ACW insured fighters! The Armored Combat Worldwide (ACW) is a sports league that organizes competitive matches between medieval armored combat teams. Catch this unique spectacle for their first time in Durango!

Did you know the Senior Center offers Zumba, Line dancing, TOPS, a library, a thrift store, a computer room and lots of other activities! There are so many resources for you sorcerous seniors. The contest will be divided into three age groups; (1-5 years old, 6-10 years old, 11-15 years old).

The wizarding winner in each group will receive a $100 toy shopping spree ($100 Ace gift card)!

Bring your Team of 4 People to play in Drinking Relay Games and show your skills! Teams will participate in different games challenging their speed, smarts, and sorcery, making their way through a bracket to see who ends up on top! All four players must participate in every game. Space is limited! Teams MUST be signed up by 2 PM the day of the event. Event Entry is FREE but participants pay for beer pitchers. Must be 21+.

Let the “sorting hat” choose which house you belong to, decorate your wand for the light parade and find the science behind magic at this all-ages event. FREE pizza and snacks for all attendees! You can avoid long lines standing in the bitter cold waiting and wanting and smelling deliciousness with the commoners that didn’t think to purchase early. No Siri Bob! My crystal ball tells me that will NOT be you! You are magical, you are a magician, you bought your tickets early! THEN you went to the SNOWDOWN Light Parade, where you confidently patted your left pocket, Chili, yes…I’m ready for you like a tortilla is ready for cheese. Like a horn to a unicorn, like the ocean to the sea…oh, I’m ready for you Masters of the Chili cauldrons! I bought my tickets early. All is well in the land.

4 PM SNOWDOWN BED RACES         

Fort Lewis College Alumni - Between 7th & 8th on Main      

Join Durango's craziest and most fun event in what is sure to be an action-packed spectacle. Compete head-to-head against other teams for the Bed Race Trophy. The event will be held on Main Avenue before the start of the SNOWDOWN Light Parade. This event is a fundraiser for the Fort Lewis College Foundation, specifically raising money for first-generation college student scholarships! Support a great cause and have a magical time. Teams of 5 (4 runners & 1 person on the bed) will race down and back with a "onesie"" exchange in the middle. You'll race head-to-head against the team next to you. First team to cross the finish line advances to the next round. Beds are provided. You'll need a team of 5, a team name, helmets for everyone, a onesie and proper footwear.

The Rotary Clubs of La Plata County come together for their fun fundraising event of the year! Watch the bewitching red balls roll down 11th Street from 2nd Avenue. Each ball is numbered and the winner is determined by the balls that reach the finish line. If you don’t have a ticket(s) you can’t win! Must be 21+ to purchase tickets.

6 PM DUSK THE ANNUAL SNOWDOWN LIGHT PARADE      

Main from College Dr to 12th St

Hosted by Purgatory Resort. Join the Magical Mystical beings on the streets for the SNOWDOWN Light Parade. It’s Durango’s only nighttime parade where light-bedecked floats create a dazzling delight in Durango’s most spectacular and entertaining procession along Main Avenue. Miracles will abound while wizards, witches, fairies, magicians and all things mystical show their supernatural creativity on lighted floats. Floats compete for trophies in 10 divisions with special emphasis on lights and theme.

Live at the Durango Arts Center Theater! The Follies return for the 38th year of entertainment with your favorite showbiz personalities and local commentary. This notoriously irreverent review is performed by an all-volunteer cast and crew. This is adult entertainment with a cash bar. There are COVID entry restrictions for every ticket holder. Must be 18+.

If you missed getting tickets for the SNOWDOWN Follies, watch the show on the big screen at the Animas City Theatre! It’s almost as good as the real thing, at half the price! Tickets will go on sale at the theatre Saturday Jan 15, at 12 NOON for 1 hour, then at animascitytheatre.com until they are SOLD OUT. Must be 21+.

Wear your most Magical self, where else can you dress up like a unicorn or Tinkerbell? Dance the night away to the Jelly Belly Boogie Band while raising money for the Veterans of La Plata County. Must be 21+.

Hosted by Exit Realty and Ranch and AIKO Sound. Razzle dazzle and diddly doo join in on the enchanting annual teen dance. Adorn yourselves as your favorite mythical attire and dance the night away. See you there right after the SNOWDOWN Light Parade! A safe environment for ages 10-18. Parents must sign permission form.
